The studies of the figure, rendered in oil on canvas, and the drawings in pastel on paper, were done at the San Francisco Art Institute under the guidance of my dear Professor Bruce McGaw. I begin the drawings and paintings with the model in front of me. The works are completed in my studio from memory or by viewing my body in front of a mirror.
I enjoy painting and drawing the human figure. As I paint, I feel an amazing energy and connection with the images that emerge on the canvas. Each finished work introduces me to a new person. Although this person is based in reality, I embellish the image with imagination and joy.
