Photo of Rebeca Stanton in her studioBorn and raised in a small town in Piura, Peru, artist Rebeca Stanton has been drawing and painting since childhood. In 1973 Rebeca earned a B.A. in Art and Painting from Notre Dame de Namur University in California. Her studies included art history, painting, drawing and print-making.

After a long career in education and having earned two M.A. degrees from San Jose State University Rebeca returned to study art at Foothill College under Gordon Holler where she rendered a series of masks drawings that are full of energy and color.

In 2000 Rebeca’s passion for her art earned her the award of “Excellence in Studio Art” from the Foothill College Fine Arts Department and in 2001 the San Francisco Art Institute awarded her the “Community College Merit Scholarship” to study painting at the Institute for three years.

In 2003 she graduated with a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and at present she continues her painting studies with professor of art and Artist Bruce McGaw.

Rebeca paints with oil and uses pastel, water colors and charcoal in her drawings. She has exhibited her work in San Francisco, Palo Alto, Mountain View and Los Altos Hills. Rebeca’s work is in private collections in California, Florida, Puerto Rico and Peru. She wrote, illustrated and published the book “Power Cubes: Adventures in Spatial Perspectives” that focuses on the understanding of three dimensional space.

Rebeca resides in Los Altos Hills with her husband John. She is the proud mother of John Jr. and Susan. Daughter Susan and her husband, Einar Acuna, are the proud parents of Rebeca’s darling grandsons, Justin and Christian Acuna.
